This is a good all-around blend, containing Milk Thistle, Echinacea, Fenugreek, Nettle, Rosehips, Ginger, Burdock and Dandelion Root.

Milk Thistle: Milk Thistle is traditionally used to improve and protect liver function, and to speed up regeneration of liver cells.It has the ability to protect the liver from damage by drugs and poisons. Has been used on horses suffering from liver damage due to worm burden or prolonged use of drugs. Milk Thistle is an excellent spring tonic herb as it helps strengthen the liver.

Burdock Root: One of the best blood purifiers for chronic infection, arthritis, rheumatism and skin disease such as eczema, sores or dry scurfy skin. Clears the kidneys of excess wastes and uric acid by increasing the flow of urine. Rich in vitamin C and iron, Burdock contains chromium, magnesium. Burdock eases digestion and increases the flow of urine to promote healthy kidneys by reducing calcification deposits.

Dandelion Root: One of nature’s best medicines and much valued as a herbal remedy. Main influence is on the liver and it is an excellent blood purifier for conditions such as eczema. Because of its high content of mineral, it is used to treat anemia. Will increase the flow of urine and is good in kidney formulas. The Dandelion actually has a strong diuretic action and is rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium. Vitamins A, B, C and D are rich in this pesky weed and horses have been reported actually digging their paddock in order to reach the potent properties of the Dandelion root. Dandelion is a useful in the treatment of rheumatism and will cleanse the blood.

Echinacea: Stimulates certain white blood cells and has anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties. Good for the immune system and the lymphatic system. Useful for colic, colds, flu, and other infectious illnesses. Helps in tissue healing. A valuable alternative to all antibiotics.

Nettle Leaf: Will help expel phlegm from the lungs. High in iron, silicon, potassium, and Vitamin K, vitamin C. One of the highest source of iron and easily used by the body, helps to restore the bloom shine and dappling in a horses coat.Used as a spring tonic and general blood cleanser and conditioner. Nettles also stimulates circulation which makes this herb ideal in conditions of laminitis, rheumatism and arthritis.

Ginger: A product of India, ginger is considered the Universal Medicine by India’s Ayurvedic herbalists. Ginger has also been used for centuries in Chinese herbal medicine for the positive effects it has on the body, as well as to enhance herbal combinations. Ginger’s anti-inflammatory properties help relieve pain and reduce inflammation associated with arthritis, rheumatism and muscle spasms. Ginger’s therapeutic properties effectively stimulate circulation of the blood, removing toxins from the body, cleansing the bowels and kidneys, and nourishing the skin.

Other uses for ginger include the treatment of asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory problems by loosening and expelling phlegm from the lungs. Ginger is most commonly known for its effectiveness as a digestive aid.

Fenugreek: References to this herb are made in Mrs M Grieve’s “A Modern Herbal” written in 1931, when Fenugreek was used extensively as a feed additive for horses and cattle, to help put on condition. Fenugreeks chemical composition is very similar to that of cod liver oil.

The fenugreek seeds are extremely nutritive and consist of up to 8% oil and 20% protein and contain the vitamins A,B and C as well as E. Rich in calcium. Because of its aroma fenugreek will tempt shy feeders and help to put condition on poor doers.

Used to stimulate appetite, for gastric disorders, ulceration and general condition. It is anti-inflammatory for stomach disorders, useful for allergies,anemia,bruises,colitis, coughs, lung problems, sinus congestion.

Rosehips: Used to fight infection and helps curb stress. It is the highest herb in Vitamin C content and contains the entire C-Complex. Encourages strong healthy hoof growth
